What you’re looking at is the NZXT Vulcan Micro ATX. This is one computer that definitely fits in wherever your life takes you. Yes, even if you go to a party, just drag this thing along with you. Wondering why it’s so awesome? Just take a look at some of the key features I have highlighted below for you.
The built-in handle kicks off your trip.
Instead of having to worry about dropping the PC, you just take a hold on the built-in handle of this monster. Who thought that taking a desktop with you would be so convenient? This should give competing computer case manufacturers a run for their money over the upcoming trials and tribulations of what we like to refer to as the ever-growing IT industry.
The style is just….THERE!
When was the last time that you seen a computer come with a wire mesh cage? Not only will this help ventilate the inner components, the style will live on forever. In fact, the style is so rocking that your components will probably end up becoming outdated before the appearance of the NZXT Vulcan Micro ATX.
How big is this next generation computer? Since it’s a desktop it’s probably HUGE!
Well, to be quite honest with you, the size of the Vulcan (I’m just going to start cutting the name down to make it a little bit shorter from now on) is about 40% smaller than your average desktop. Sure, it’s bigger than a decked out laptop, but honestly if you drag this thing to a party or other type of meet-up, think of the response you would get from those around you.
The whole purpose is to make LAN parties much more appealing.
They refer to this particular computer case as something that was specifically designed for LAN parties. This is great, but with the world leaning more towards powerful laptops hooked up to a wireless network, this could definitely be something that directly affects the sales and interest of the NZXT Vulcan.
I hate to spoil it for you folks, but here’s the TRUTH!
The truth is I’m guilty. Guilty of what you say? Well, I’m showing you something that won’t be on the market for 8 more days. At least it’s not another iPhone prototype outing, but I wanted to give you a little heads up before the release of this upcoming computer case. Time to get the interest flowing and see just how well this particular creation is going to do in the ever-competitive IT industry.

While the details are still pretty sketchy, since Intel doesn’t like releasing much info on upcoming releases, we must say that they are supposed to be launching the new processor sometime this quarter.
What’s this mean?
Well, it means that you will start to see this new processor appear in laptops this year. Which is sure to create some talk within the IT scene when Intel finally releases this new processor.
Is there anything else in the works over at Intel?
Well, actually there is. They also plan on releasing a new Core i5 processor sometime this year, but again the details aren’t really here yet. We will keep you updated as soon as we know more than what we currently do.

HP has already released quite a few products that uses their TouchSmart that appeals to quite a few people these days. However, what we have failed to see is a laptop that uses their TouchSmart technology.
They decided to start this out with the Pavillion dv6, which has went through a makeover than previous members of the Pavillion family by having a “metal look.” This is their start to providing more user-friendly computing solutions.
Now, the Pavillion line is know for it’s ever-changing look targeted to attract the newer generation of computer users without having to jack up the cost or sacrifice the performance of their computers.
Now, you need to keep in mind that this particular technology is optional on the HP Pavillion dv6, which does have a reason as not everyone wants to take advantage of it.
As far as specs, it comes with a 1TB hard drive, plenty of USB ports, HDMI, and your choice of an Intel or AMD processor. This is truly enough to get the job done, and then maybe some more.
A tablet may be a better option for those who essentially want to use this for music and other types of multimedia as the price starts at a little over $500. This is definitely a price that HP can’t really justify due to their negative experiences with consumers in the recent past.
For the HP fans, this is a great moment for them. However, personally I steer away from HP as I am one of the many people who have experienced the side effects of going with a computer manufacturer that sacrifices quality for price.
Then again, maybe it’s just me. I will leave that up for you to decide. If anyone has tried this out, please leave a comment and let us know how it added up. Until next time, happy computing!

With all of these commercials coming in front of our faces about Intel’s newest line of processors, we can’t help but wonder what in the world the difference is. We have i3, i5, and i7 to choose from, but which one would suit our needs the best?
This is something that I have been pondering upon and I found out that I wasn’t the only one wondering what on earth Intel has done by releasing these new processors.
Well, the time is here for you to discover the difference between Intel’s i3, i5, and i7 processors. You can thank the coffee on a late night for this post. :)
Intel Core i3 Processor
This particular Intel processor is the enter level processor of this new series of Intel processors. While it may not be the fastest one of the bunch, it can get the job done, at least for most applications.
Mind you, if you need high speed, I suggest one of the other processors that I will unveil in front of your eyes later on in this post. Here’s some of the Core i3 features.
- Uses 4 threads. Yes, it uses hyperthreading technology which is the latest craze due to its improved efficiency over earlier processors that were put on the market.
- This processor consists of 2-4 cores, depending on which one you get your hands on.
- Contains A 3-4 MB Cache
- Uses less heat and energy than earlier processors, which is always a good thing in this day and age.
Intel Core i5 Processor
- This is the mid-size processor of this bunch, recommended for those who demand a little speed, but not quite enough where the user will be running resource-intensive applications.
- As with the Core i3 processor, this comes with 2-4 cores, the main difference is that it has a higher clock speed than the Core i3.
- This is also a heat and energy efficient processor, but it does seem to be better at this particular job than the Core i3 processor.
- The number of threads used in this is no different than the Core i3 with 2-4 threads, and it also uses hyperthreading technology for a boost in performance.
- The cache of the Core i5 is bigger than the Core i3, it’s at 3-8 MB.
- The Core i5 is where the turbo mode is made available, this provides users with the opportunity to turn off a core if it’s not being utilized.
Intel Core i7 Processor
- This is for the users that demand power, yes it does provide more power and if Tim Allen gets one of these, this would be the beast that he gets his hands on. Great for gamers and other resource intensive users.
- The cache on this one is 4-8 MB.
- This processor comes with 8 threads, definitely enough to get the job done quickly, maybe even at the speed of light if you’re lucky.
And yes it also utilizes hyperthreading technology.
- You will have four cores to take advantage of with this particular series.
- And just like the other ones in this Intel series of processors, it is more energy efficient and produces less heat.
I hope this shed some light on these new processors for you!

If you’ve been around computers for a long time, like I have, odds are you probably remember when Wolfenstein was the only first person shooter game. Wolfenstein has stuck with us through all of the advancements in technology and it has become a legend in the world of gaming. It was love at first sight when I stumbled upon this Wolfenstein case mod.
Was it the MP40 that doubles as a handle? Was it the air brushed graphics? Well, I really can’t tell you, but I must say this goes to show just how much modified computer cases can make a difference. It’s definitely a lot better than the factory case, there’s no doubt about that.

Yes, the monitor that you see is a 23″ Asus, which has been painted to resemble WWII camouflage. This definitely helps bring out the brilliance of this modification. As you can see, when you have it sitting there, it just calls for a little attention. Maybe it’s time to launch Wolfenstein and become a part of the environment with this awesome Wolfenstein case mod.
They even painted the keyboard/mouse, you know it didn’t come like that! This is a Logitech G15 keyboard and G7 mouse. Definitely a great choice for this build if I must say.

At the end of the barrel, you can power on/off the computer. The light that it has flashes during HD activity to give the computer a little more attraction. I guess they though it was dull, until they implemented those effects.

Here’s a glimpse of some of the air brush work that they did. What you’re looking at is the Veil Heavy Trooper, which they drew inspiration from the Wolfenstein sequel. This is without a doubt, a very very good work of art.
Summary of This Particular Case Mod
Wolfenstein has inspired tons of different case mods over the years, but this one is definitely the leader of the pack. The amount of attention to detail that was given to this particular one truly makes it shine like a diamond in the rough. For those who enjoy gaming, this provides you with not only the power to game through the day and night, but also the surrounding that any gamer will want around them while playing.
I really don’t think this could be done any better than it has. Of course, these pictures are just a few of the remarkable memories this case mod provides. If you would like to see more, or to see the detailed work that made this possible, please visit the Case Mod Blog where they have a very in-depth post.
