Preserve The Life of Your Laptop Battery

laptop 300x300 Preserve The Life of Your Laptop Battery

If you’re like used to be, you probably don’t have much luck when it comes to preserving the life of your laptop battery.

However, the continued aggravation of experiencing laptop battery failure in the middle of working put my nerves over the edge and I knew I had to find an effective solution that would put this to a much needed stop before I had to check into the mental hospital.

With that said, here’s some things that you can do in order to help make your laptop battery have a longer lifespan.

Heat Kills

Laptops are designed to be maintained at room temperature. Therefore, leaving the laptop in the car on a hot summer day could be the death of it. Especially for the laptop battery. Over time, the battery life is depleted when exposed to heat.

Clean The Connectors

You can use a q-tip to clean these connectors. Keeping the laptop battery connections clean will help it function more efficiently. Providing you with a longer battery life than a laptop battery that has a bunch of gunk in the connectors.

Maybe you’re using the wrong laptop?

The size of your laptop can play a very big part on how well your battery performs. Lighter and smaller laptops actually have batteries that contain a longer lifespand than the others which are heavy and bulky.

A Moist Atmosphere Could Mean The End

No matter what, you shouldn’t ever expose your laptop to damp conditions. They were designed to remain dry around the clock. Damp conditions not only could kill your laptop battery, but it could make your laptop stop functioning completely.

A Simple Process, A Need To Be Done Regularly

This simple process is running your battery all the way down until it powers off your computer. Once you have done that, plug it in and charge it until it reaches its maximum capacity. Doing this every couple of weeks will help you prolong how long your laptop battery is going to live.

Many times, people fail to understand how easy it is to promote a long and healthy life for their laptop battery. Trust me, I used to be one of them myself. However, now that you have the needed steps to preserving your laptop battery, hopefully you are on your way to a laptop battery that’s going to stop aggravating you every time that you turn around.

So, here’s a quick overview of the Microsoft Arc keyboard so that you know exactly what it is and what it can do for you.

What is the Microsoft Arc keyboard?

The Microsoft Arc keyboard is a lightweight and appealing keyboard which takes after the Microsoft Arc mouse. It seems like Microsoft had portability in mind when they designed this keyboard, and it turned out to be one of the sexiest keyboards around.

What is unique about the Microsoft Arc keyboard?

The Microsoft Arc keyboard is designed in such a way, that it has usability and space-conservation both in mind. It’s design requires no cords, since this is a wireless keyboard, and the USB device is even tiny.

When it’s time to call it a day, you can unplug the Microsoft Arc USB receiver and store it in a built-in space that attached the device and the keyboard together thanks to a wisely place magnetic strip.

How much does the Microsoft Arc keyboard cost?

The Microsoft Arc keyboard retails for around $60 USD. This makes it not the cheapest, nor the most affordable keyboard on the market.

Is the Microsoft Arc keyboard worth trying out?

The Microsoft Arc keyboard is worth a shot if you don’t like having to deal with cords or a bulky keyboard. It’s design makes it very appealing and using it couldn’t feel any better.

Network through Powerlines with the brite-View LinkE

LinkE 300x212 Network through Powerlines with the brite View LinkE

brite-view’s LinkE is a great new networking over powerlines solution that will excite any user that wants a stable connection without having to run cat-5 cable throughout their home. Because it overcomes many of the problems with wireless networks, such as diminished power over distances and slower speeds, the LinkE is a great solution for connecting your home theater or video game consoles to your network when your router is on the other side of the house or on another floor.

Get Consistent Speed and Connection with LinkE

As someone who is planning on moving into a new home soon, I’ve been struggling to figure out how to network my home once I move in. I know that wireless networks are more powerful than ever, but I need consistent speed for Xbox Live and transferring files to my PS3. When I’ve used wireless solutions in the past, I frequently had to deal with dropped connections or corrupted files. Sometimes, the simple act of turning on the microwave would mess everything up.  I knew I needed something that more closely resembled a hardline.

I began to investigate powerline networking solutions a few months ago as I prepared to move. At first, I was put off by the cost, but began to realize that it wasn’t as bad as I had thought. To add Wireless-N to by Xbox 360 would cost almost $100, as there is only the official overpriced Microsoft solution. I would still need to update my router to Wireless-N, but even then I wouldn’t be able to run it at full speed and would have to make a G/N network to support my older laptops. For less than $100, the LinkE gets the job done without any additional hardware to purchase.

Plug and Play with the LinkE

One of the great things about the LinkE is that the kit you purchase has everything you need. It works with your existing router and anything that has an ethernet port. Simply plug the input from your router into the smaller plug and attach it to a power outlet. Take the larger device and plug it in near your home theater set-up. Then connect your devices to the larger 4-port plug. And you’re done! That’s it. Simple, cheap and painless – that’s the way I like my tech.

I’ve yet to try this device out, but I am planning on ordering it soon. When I get it, I’ll document the installation and give a full review. However, the simplicity of this device, combined with the excellent functions makes me want to share this news with others now.
