Targus laptop adapters were fairly popular during their time of being sold in stores like Best Buy and Wal-mart. However, now these laptop power adapters are being recalled.
The reason for the recall is that the tips are overheating, which has caused consumers of this particular charger minor burns. Only eight burns were reported, which is a lot less than what it could have been.
What happened during the overheating process of this particular series of laptop chargers is that it got so hot, the plastic case around the tips began to endure a melting process.
For those of you who want to know which ones were recalled, here’s the SKU numbers.
In order to find the SKU number, look on the bottom of the Targus laptop power supply. It will be listed right there.
While these laptop chargers weren’t cheap on the retail scene, this is a prime example of one of the primary risks of outsourcing IT manufacturing to other companies. Sure it saves money, but then again there are times that you have to remember there’s a chance that you will get your hands on faulty products like the Targus laptop chargers .
