The Truth about Computer Repair Companies
As we see a rapid influx in the amount of people who use computers at home, on the go, or at work, more and more people are opening a computer repair business in order to cash in on the profitable opportunity.
However, you need to find out the truth so that you don’t get caught not knowing that you could quickly become a victim.
Just because they own a computer repair company doesn’t mean they know what they’re doing.
I see too many instances to where a computer repair company came out to look at someone’s computer and charge them a hefty fee doing so. However, more times than not, they just come in, spend like 20 minutes looking at it, and if they can’t figure it out, they give up.
Now, mind you that they may contact another local computer repair company to fix the issue, but seriously. If you’re in the computer repair business you can’t give up just because you think that it will be too difficult since you didn’t do it a hundred times beforehand.
How can you safeguard yourself from such a company?
When it comes down to it, this is pretty hard. One way to go about it is to make sure that they aren’t going to charge you if they can’t fix it. You don’t need to pay them a hefty fee for them to come out and tell you that they can’t get the job done.
Also, ask them what kind of certifications they hold and to see them (if you want to be completely sure that they aren’t lying). Most computer repair people hold IT certification. Those that don’t may or may not know what they’re doing, it’s just as much as a gamble as going to the casino.
