I have and now thanks to one of the YouTube channels I subscribe to, I have one. This handy utility is called TweakNow PowerPack 2009.

TweakNow can be found here and it the best part is, it’s freeware. This little gem has a boat load of tools to make your maintenance tasks simple, easy and fast. You will need to download, install and test to see the power this tool can provide but I will give you a quick breakdown of each tool.

Disk Cleaner

Disk Cleaner scans your disk and lists the items that are safe to be deleted.  You have the option to exclude certain items before deleting just in case you want them.

Disk Usage

Disk Usage will allow you to analyze a specific drive and/or directory. (Folder)

It gives you the size, a count of sub directories and the number of files within the directories. You can also select individual drives and/or directories and view the content right from TweakNow.

Miscellaneous Tools

The Miscellaneous Tools section has 6 useful tools to make some everyday functions quicker and easier.

  • Auto Shutdown: I have used this to shutdown my computer after a long download. I set up the download for overnight and then go to bed. I have also use this at work when I have to leave the office and I am not sure if I will be back that day.
  • CD Autorun: Set this up based on your preference and computer configuration.

cd Auto e1267726101215 TweakNow: The utility that pretty much does it all.

  • Process Manager: Just like the task manager (ctrl/alt/delete) but most of processes have icons to simplify what process is what.
  • TweakNow Shortcut: Designate all your shortcuts from here.
  • RAM Optimizer: Nice for those systems that have minimum RAM memory.
  • Virtual Desktop: Set up to 4 windows and minimize to the system tray. (This does not have a lot of use for me.)

Registry Cleaner

The Registry Cleaner function gives you the option of cleaning the registry as well as opening regedit. There is also and options to customize the scan.

Registry Defragmenter

The Registry Defragmenter restructures the data in the registry. The process can speed registry access and improve registry efficiency

Startup Manager

Just like the msconfig but it shows the actual software icon with the name, I find it easier to control the startup programs from here.

System Information

SYS INFO e1267676502332 1024x257 TweakNow: The utility that pretty much does it all.

This section gives you all the information you will need for your system.

Track Cleaner

No it is not for cleaning the track before running. It does, however, go through all of your internet browser(s) and your program(s) that access the internet and allows you to clean out anything that may download other than updates.

Uninstall Program

Self explanatory here except it has a restore feature but I am not sure if this has much use. (Once it is out, why would you want it back?)

Windows Secret

Windows Secret e1267676554586 1024x268 TweakNow: The utility that pretty much does it all.

This section has 11 great tools for optimization of your system. I could go on for paragraphs about these but I suggest making your own opinion after putting them through your own test(s).

Quick Tuneup

Quick Tuneup will run a fast optimization on the registry and clean basic errors. In this section you can also do a quick disk scan to cleanup old and useless files to regain HD space.

Restore Backup

Last but certainly not least is the Restore Backup feature. Everything you do in TweakNow is backed up here and allows you to restore a mistake. (I’ve used this a couple of times.)

That is a quick review of this utility…Thanks for taking the time to read it and thanks goes out to Britec09 for video that introduced me to this handy little program. I hope you find it as useful as I do.
