will my old or ancient os is benefit to upgrade.

many old OS lack in hardware resource that xp need.
is not possible to upgrade to xp direct to XP.

Path to XP

window 98/Me upgrade directly home edition and professional

Nt 4.0 cannot upgrade ,

Workstation or a clean install
window 2000 Prof

XP Home upgrade direct to professional

window 3.1x/95 upgrade to 98
then upgrade XP
