If the compter has a sufficient CPU and enough RAM, why not do a fresh full install of XP rather than an upgrade? If the PC doesn't have enough CPU speed or enough RAM, then Win XP is not an option anyway. If the PC CAN handle XP from a hardware standpoint, then just wipe the HD and do a complete, fresh install of XP.
