It aint rocket science, its just trial and error, stick to standard voltages and there isnt much risk and if you add extra cooling will probably be more reliable, as for lapping the cpu - yep that will fcuk up the cpu, risk of damaging the pins is too high and the gains in performace are tiny, stick it in lock it down and leave it alone, stick to a good tim like arctic silver and a good hsf like arctic cooling freezer.
