1. List the exact components you have in the PC, from the motherboard make and model, to the memory, to the video card (or integrated video), to the power supply. When you list the brand/model of the power supply give the specifications on brand, watts, and the AMP (amperage) ratings of the +12V rail. Exact CPU, and does it have the stock OEM heat sink fan or an aftermarket CPU fan?

2. Did you build this system or buy it, and if you did but it what is the make and model number of the PC?

3. If you did build it did you properly ground yourself and are you sure there aren't any errant (or missing) motherboard standoff screws under the backside of the motherboard that might be shorting the motherboard out against the case?

4. Does the I/O backplate on the back of your PC seem to fit "flush (IE perfectly) or do you see that it's skewed or tilted? Or it doesn't seem to fit right? That can cause a short.

5. Could be a memory issue to and the only way to know that is to runmemtest86. You also need to make sure the FSB and voltage corresponds to what it needs by default ratings (specifications). EG DDR 1333 ram at 2.1v 15-5-5-5 timings.

*in short you need to list full specs for the PC, and if you built how did you built it (steps) - if you bought it what model? Finally, do you have the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard?

thank you for the help...!

the freeze problem started way before i made any mods. to my system...also...the same freeze will acure on my laptop under the same conditions...both are a dell product...they both use vista home prem.32 and sonar7 and adobe reader9...so i have a hard time thinking it has anything to do with the actual separate systems them selves...rather...some kind of compatibility problem in the programs...i mean it happens the same way "freeze" on two different computers...? Ive upgraded to sonar8 on my desk pc. and have not had the chance to see if i can "freeze" the computer as of yet...i do notice when i launch adobe acrobat reader i LOOSE the cursor for about 2-3 sec. then it comes back...that is similar to what happens in sonar just before it freezes...but so far adobe reader has come back to life and allowed me to continue with my purpose...i can use the envelopes in other programs like cubase4-sony sound forge-acid7-and ableton live...with no problems at all...so thats what i do...i just like to use sonar much more for some types of audio "things" than the other programs...so its frustrating to have to use a program that cant do what i need done...when...i own the program i need and cant use it for purpose i purchased it for....!

thanks for the input...and i am sorry for the "tone" of some of my other threads...!

i truly meant no disrespect to the comunity...
