Default Computer repair basic exam

I took this exam and missed 4. 80% Not sure though what I missed or if I need or can take it again. I thought I got a Guru certif something showed up embeded. Didn't know what it was. But I think that is only for over 80%. I think I missed the Megaherz or ghertz questions. Need to go back and read about that. Can this be taken again?

That gigahertz/megahertz question got me too. I think it's a trick question so nobody ever gets 100%.

Question 4 of the advanced test asks for how many megabytes in 1 gigabyte. 1024 is what I would choose, but that answer is not listed.

here for future use guys

Officially, there are 1000 (10^3) megabytes (MB) in a gigabyte (GB). So 500MB would equal 0.5 GB.
(the (10^3) is saying 10 cubed, 10 with exponent of 3)

This definition is used in hard drives, portable memory drives (memory cards, USB drives), DVDs, Blu-ray disks, and most measures of performance. Some software (such as Mac OS X and the Linux kernel) uses this definition when displaying file and disk sizes.

Memory manufacturers use 1024 (210) megabytes per gigabyte, but this is more properly called a gigabinary byte (GiB), sometimes contracted to gibibyte.
Examples:

* 1,000 megabyte (MB) = 1 gigabyte (GB)
* 1,024 mebibyte (MiB) = 1 gibibyte (GiB)
* mega- = 1,000,000
* giga- = 1,000,000,000
* mebi- = 1,024 × 1,024 = 1,048,576
* gibi- = 1,024 × 1,024 × 1,024 = 1,073,741,824

Memory manufacturer definition

These are the definitions used by memory manufacturers and software like Microsoft Windows.

There are exactly 1024 megabytes (MB) in one gigabyte (GB)

MB stands for megabyte. Lowercase Mb has been used for both "megabyte" and "megabit". (Writing bytes as MB and bits as Mbit avoids any ambiguity.)

GB stands for gigabyte. Lowercase Gb has been used for both "gigabyte" and "gigabit".

1 megabyte = 8 megabits

1 megabyte = 1024 kilobytes

1 gigabyte = 1024 megabytes or 8192 megabits

I believe that there is something wrong with the software of this test. Today, I took the Computer Repair Quiz-Basic. I received my answer that my result was 15/20 (75%). It did provide me with the correct answers to the questions that I missed. When I looked at the correct answers, I thought that I had marked those exact same answers and did not believe that I missed them at all. There was one answer that I guessed at and that was the last question regarding "Processor Pins are made of Platinum". I did not know that answer and just guessed that it was true. My exam report indicated that I had missed it and the correct answer is "True".

So, I took the test again and made sure that I marked down the answers as indicated on my first exam report. This time, I printed out my answers. Sure enough, when I read my exam report, it was exactly like the first report indicating that my result was 15/20 (75%). I compared the first exam report and last exam report and they were exactly the same. I know for a fact that I did not miss any as my printed out exam matched the exam report answers. Therefore, I can only assume that the software for the exam is malfunctioning in some manner. Rob

Those exams haven't been used or updated in a long time, eventually we will probably remove them we just haven't gotten to it yet. If we decide to keep them I will need to update them and take a look at whats going on.
