Download and installation went well! I was lucky, cause I cant download anything on windows XP atm, I guess with the exceptions of .zip and .iso. Looks great, though I want to switch to Gnome DE, any of you know how to switch?

Disagree, I think 12.04 is the best of the bunch so far. I had a ton of problems with 10.04.

If you like 10.04 better just because of the gnome desktop instead of unity you can just install it or boot to gnome classic, no reason to use the desktop if you don't like it.

Unity works pretty well once you get used to it though.

If you search the posts on the ubuntu forum, I'm sure someone will already have resolved the issue of switching to gnome.

Well, one reason was Unity, but not alone. They renamed a lot of things, and made it harder to access, even in Gnome(which I did install).

Have you tried KDE? It was very good. My PC couldn't handle it well, so I tried uninstalling it. That didn't go so well so I reinstalled Ubuntu(Just a few min ago). :P Ubuntu installation time is quite short if you disconnect from the net.

Thanks, I found a tut and Installed it, though I had to reinstall Ubuntu cause of KDE, so now I'm back to installing Gnome, lol.

Hows Ubuntu going for you two? Did you notice net is faster on Ubuntu?

Like I said, it's not my primary computer, so I rarely use it on the net. That being said, I use a dongle, so I doubt if I'd notice anyway.
