I have a Dell (OptiPlex GX270) everything is set right in the bios,But I pop in a another hard drive with everything installed on it,and it won't boot up! Neither will My windows cd? I've had problems with this pc for a while,I got (almost new) put operating system on it....drivers! etc but I couldn't get the net.I kept installing the Ethernet driver or network...whatever! and still no net? Anyone have any ideas how to fix these problems?
Am I missing a driver,and or the bios isn't set right?
btw I got it,it was working! But soon after a Virus got on it,and I gave it a friend! But she couldn't get it off.Too deep in the system! So she wiped the drive! Did she delete something or reset the bios?

probobly not too good at this what i would do is get a new mobo or reset the bios.

No.....I installed Ubuntu and Also ran a Parted Magic cd....I got The net! The MB is fine! I just have to find the right driver for it!....to work in Windows? Any ideas? And thx for the Reply!

Try the realtek site they do 99% of all the network card hardware if you cant find a makers name model number on the card, as for hard drive what i normally do is set optical drive as master on ide1 ribbon primary hard drive as slave and secondary as master on second ribbon, if its a problem with bios pop the battery out or look for reset jumpers near the battery, if all else fails there could still be somthing on the drive d-ban it and do a fresh install.
