Default New Repair Business

Does anyone have a estimate of how much inventory (parts) a new business should carry? Is there a business model available for PC repair?

Thanks

Are you talking about opening a store front or doing on-site computer repair?

I am evaluating all options. Possibly starting in the home and then renting a building. On site repair is also a option. What I will most likely end up doing is taking the least expensive option (low startup costs).

If I do start in the home, is it needful to have spare parts or just order them when needed?

For in-home and on-site, I would keep the essentials around. Keep a couple spare hard drives, extra network adapter, some extra Ram. and things like that. Don't keep to much. Then just order parts as people need them. So the most money will be spent on tools you will need. Different techs prefer different tools, so you will just have to judge on what you would like to carry with you.

Default All you need is your tools

Just basic tool set might be good enough. You can usually find office depot, office max, frys or other big box stores just around the corner.

For starters - you key advantage is your personalized service.

Could always make use of an amazon prime subscription.. 70$ a year for free 2 day shipping and like.. 4$ overnight shipping. If you don't want to keep stuff in stock this is definitely the way to go for acquiring replacement parts in a hurry.
