Default Computer parts

If your starting a business were should you get your parts. Should you only stick with buying from places like tigerdirect and newegg, or can you use parts from ebay? Sometimes the prices are alot cheaper, but then you usaly wont have any warrenty.

Set yourself up with a reliable supplier. Many times I've asked salespeople for products and the answer is always yes but then it turns out to be not exactly what was asked for. It's a headache when you have to chase people for the right product.

For me it depends on the part. If it's a universal part like hard drives, ram, etc then I get it from newegg of my distributor. If it's a specific part, a hard drive caddy, laptop power jack, etc then normally I get off ebay.

Just know anytime you buy off ebay you are risking the wrong part of delayed shipping.

Default Different Vendor for different parts

Here at www.fixtro.comwe are constantly looking for new vendors.

I am yet to come across one vendor who can fill all the needs. But key for some one starting out is that you need someone who can sell you small quantity. Even if price is little higher - at-least you won't have to stock up on parts that might take year to sell.

Various Vendor sponsored fairs are great place to meet with new vendors and learn how they can help out. For example, if you sell Cisco than you should consider going to all Cisco Reseller fairs.

Ebay is tough. We personally find it very difficult to deal with eBay. Local recycling centers are also great place to get some used parts for great price.
