Default Computer Repair Service Agreements

Does anyone know of a good template for a computer repair business? I have started my business (still working on marketing) and will need something to give the customer that outlines an agreement in the event worse comes to worse. I have thought of modifying some other company's service agreement to fit mine. Any ideas?

Read this thread by Oldman. It should answer your questions.

Apart from installing new hardware, I do not guarantee or give warranties. That being said, as a new business, if a customer did come back to me with a complaint, I'd move heaven and earth to help them (even if it meant I'd be out of pocket). In my opinion, a goodwill gesture now is worth more in the future, with the repeat business.

Would someone be willing to post an example of their service agreement? Of course I would go out of my way to make a customer happy. However, in the worst case scenario I want something that says that the customer agrees to pay for the work done and is responsible for backing up their own data. I don't want someone to take advantage of an unforseen situation.

keep it simple

abc computers guarantee all work carried out by its employees but we accept no responsibility for loss of data or any subsequent losses resulting from that loss, the customer is responsible for backing up important data and activation keys for software.

As popeye67 said keep it simple. Here is a base example you can start with and modify it to suit your needs.

Work Order
Customer:_____________________Phone:______________ __
Address:__________________________________________ ____

WORK REQUESTED:_____________________________$EST.______ ______
------------------------------
Some viruses and spyware can do damage to Windows operation systems
that can't be repaired. Very often the virus and spyware cleaning
process will delete text documents, pictures, video, games and software.
