Just thought I would share this with the community,I just tore my laptop complete down so I could do a Thuro cleaning,but not before I did it to a customers laptop a couple days ago.His worked fine after I put it back together,now mine when i finished turned it on I could hear the fan running the wifi light on my keyboard light was on but my cap lock light was flashing,nothing on the screen,I plugged in external monitor still nothing.This had me worried,turned the computer over took one memory card out left one in tryed the computer again bingo windows booted That was a sign of relief,shut it down put second card in restarted the computer everything is fine now.I must have not had the memory card installed right.

laptops can be a bit tempremental at the best of times

You can say that again,you know popeye that got me thinking [ witch i don't do of en ] but remember my best Friend with his laptop problem about a month ago he put in new hard drive plus he also told me he did a complete tear down to clean it out.Than he couldn't get it to show up on either monitor,and you actually said it would be strange for the video card to fail at the same time as hard drive.Any way I have not been able to get a hold of him het but i did e-mail him to tell him to check that the memory is seated right.He actually already bought him a new dell, he is suppose to send me that hp to see what i can do with it

think it was more likely a bad connection or ram stick not seated right, or posibly bad connection where the ram slot contacts are a little corroded

your right i used the wrong wording that was it i just didn't get it in all the way
