Angry Laptop wont boot up

Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 7000, went to turn it on today, and the power button lights up, the HD light flashes twice rapidly-pause twice rapidly, then nothing, it dont get as far lighting the scree nor an external monitor, I've followed some of the steps I've seen on other posts (removing each ram stick seperatley to see if it boots past it), I've left it on for 30 mins to see if it was 'thinking' about something before continuing as a long pause , also the switch does not turn it back off, so I have to removed the battery ( which was showing 92%+charging) earlier when I was on it, so the battery is good, have tried a spare as well, whilst it is idle, the hard drive dont feel like its running, also there are no system 'beeps' to indicate faults, or the 1st beep as you turn it on....I'm at a total loss, any ideas would be appreciated.

Bob (really IS mad!!!!!!)

If Popeyes solution does not work you may have to take it to a computer repair shop and have it diagnosed. I had a problem with my toshiba satellite laptop about 6 years and your symptoms are almost exactly like the ones I had on my system. It ended up being a graphics interface problem between the computer and the screen. I hope I am wrong because it cost me $120. U.S. and about 5 days to get it fixed. Good Luck

Hi folks Thanks for the replies, I downloaded the hirens CD, but that didnt solve the prob (although it sorted m8's desktop so that was a result), I have since got it sorted thru my home insurance, they said it was beyond economic repair, so ended up with a brand new spanky one, so all is good.

so once again thanks to all who replied, it's much apprecieated.

Bob

Wow bobsimad you must have some really good home insurance. Never heard insurance paying for a nonworking computer.
