Default Repairing Topcase of Macbook Pro

Hello my name is Dnany.

Recently I tried to take my macbook pro apart on my own because the fans were getting noisy and I needed to blow some dust out.

During the process however I wasn't using logic and screwed up the top case of the macbook. Most of the pieces of orange tape found underneath the top case are unattached completely and the top case now looks very deformed.

So I was wondering how much would it cost to replace the whole topcase?

The macbook itself still turns on its just that the keyboard doesn't work along with the touchpad.

I am not completely aware of whether anything else is damaged but I didn't touch anything on the inside when I opened the macbook up besides gently wiping out some dust.

The macbook itself is very important to me as it has tons of books on the hard drive and I really want to be able to use it again.

If anyone is confused on the part that I messed up then heres a video on the part that I'm talking about.

Help is appreciated.

keyboard and touchpad not working is the ribbon cable not plugged in properly, you should use compressed air air to blow dust out (they sell cans of the stuff in supermarkets), the tape is important and should be reclaced if at all possible, as for the screws you should be able to use the video to figure out roughly where they go, and you should be able to use it to put the laptop together working as good if not better than it was before.

Lack of keyboard and touch pad is definitely a poor connection - use your sense of adventure (or your screwdriver) and go back in there and check it's properly attached.

Youtube is a great resource, but I personally prefer exploded diagrams like this one:

[MacBook Air Teardown] Parts Layout Modeled in 3D [Part 8] -- Tech-On!

especially for laptops...

And once you've got it working again, back up the data you don't want to lose on disc, external hard drive, or dropbox - your choice!

Thanks for the help guys!'

I tried opening up the top case of the laptop again and sadly I couldn't get the whole thing off. For some reason the keyboard stood attached to the inside when I first tried opening it up so as a result of putting to much pressure trying to take it off It ended up looking deformed...

Thankfully though it looks like the ribbon cable is still attached.

I don't want to mess it up any more than it already is so I tried to take pictures of what I could.

I took some pictures of how most of it looks that way you guys can see if anything is wrong.

hard to tell from photos but it looks like the keyboard is bent out of shape, you can buy replacements

I know the pictures are large - but without my glasses (I stood on them) I'm practically blind... but I could make out a distorted keyboard...

Okay, Hercules, what is it with you guys and brute force anyway? Gentle persuasion.... Guy brought a computer he'd tried to fix and the side panel which was badly warped, was held in place with gaffa tape.

Did you manage to check if the keyboard and touch pad connections were secured?

Have you tried linking it up to an external monitor / keyboard? I know I've attached a monitor to a laptop before, but I've never worked on a macbook.

usb mouse and k/b should work fine, could be connection but way its bent out of shape it possibly the k/b itself damaged, try looking on ebay, apart from that it should fit together without problems.
