They can be checked but you would have to remove them to do it. If your going to remove them why not just replace them? You can replace them all for under $20 if you have bad ones and it will probably get it going. If you don't see any visible damage this may not be your problem. I recently fixed one dead board and two that would not boot up correctly using this repair. They all work flawlessly now. The one I am using to write this is one of them and works better now than it ever has! Well worth the hour it took to fix it.
