what advantage is there to over clocking a motherboard ?

A standard q6600 core2 quad go stepping runs at 2.4ghz and sells in uk for around

so even though i dont play games just watch movies and listen to alot of music,overclocking doesnot have alot of benefit, am i right ? i have an asus m2n32 sli dulux wireless edition with nvidia nforce 790 sli chipset i belieave

Easiest way is to find out for yourself, lock the pci-e to 100mhz so you dont damage your graphics card and and have a try, the only way you will do any damage is if you start uping the voltages and thats not going to be a problem with that board trust me, theres very little options to raise voltages but keep an eye on temps if you do go ahead, its known for running hot, download speedfan or coretemp.

In fact i think the m2n32 fixed the poor voltages im thinking of the m2n4 sli

For your purposes, for your computer, watching movies,and listing to music, i recommend you not overclocking your motherboard. unless you know what you are doing. cause for what you use a computer for, there is no need to overclock your system.
