Default WBR-3020 Router Problems

Hey everyone!

I have been having problems with my router recently and am in dire need of help.

Problem:
I have been sporadically losing "part" of my internet connection. What I mean by this is in while in the middle of a Skype call and game of League of Legends, I would lose my connection to both. I could still, however, browse the internet and ping out. After a few minutes, I would regain my connection and be able to connect to Skype and League of Legends again. This occurs at seemingly random intervals as sometimes it will happen 3+ times in an hour and other times it will occur once in 5 hours.

Router Info:
I am using a brand new LG-Ericsson WBR-3020. It is just about 1 month old.

Attempted Fixes:
First off, I am 100% sure it is a problem with the router and not my laptop. I installed League of Legends and Skype on my work laptop, connected it to the same router, and had the same problem. Also, I took my laptop to Best Buy (since it is under warranty) and was given a clean bill of health.
Also, I tried playing around with the settings in the router and have had no luck. I tried using a static IP address instead of a dynamic IP address, disabling firewall mode, and changing the wireless channel.

Does anyone have any advice on how to go about fixing this?

Thanks

If your having this much trouble with it out of the box send it back, doesnt matter if its had a clean bill of health if its not up to purpose, i take it you mean when its hardwired to your computer and not comparing it wirelessly, other than that i would try on makers website and if theyve got one forum, but i would send it back.

The only problem with that is that the router belongs to my landlord, not to me. I can ask for a new router but I don't know how long it will take to get a new one or how flexible they are.

I was hoping it was just a setting to change somewhere so I wouldn't have to go through all that trouble.

unlikely if youve tried with another computer, but i would look to see if they have a forum, doesnt sound like theres anything actually wrong with it if you still have internet, just the performance isnt up to much, tell your landlord to get a netgear in future, are you sharing the network with anyone else, if you were living in a flat or apartment where the internet is shared it could be whoever your sharing with is downloading torrents or streaming stuff
