I was thinking the same thing after I got a good look at Linux. I don't suppose that's going to be free :P Right now I'm just looking for an OS that will handel all my personal and professional (college) needs and doesn't cost much or anything. Music, and gaming are two biggies for me.

On second thoughts forget sabayon, just tried it if you can figure out how to install it you dont need a computer, stick to live cd proper installation is just a piss take.

Had another look a sabayon and mint, they are a bit awkward to use at first but they are starting look a bit more profesional and security wise they have always had less trouble than windows, listen to people who use them all the time and they wouldnt give windows house room.

still havent figured out installing sabayon yet but live cd is alright

Kubuntu 9.10 is a very good bistro. Have it set up dual-boot with Win7 on a test PC. Has a lot of built in software and runs great! Still trying to learn how to install apps on it. Great alternative to Windows and it worked with all my hardware.

Yeah sabayon has always been a bit crazy on the installs considering its based on Gentoo, uses the Fedora Core installer. The install is easier then Gentoo but its still a bit rough on the edges.

You need to be a user on their forums but apparently theres a step by step on Sabayon Forums • View topic - How to install sabayon linux..step by step?

Thumbs up

So I checked out the Ubuntu website, and ordered myself a disc. I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find some tutorial videos on it.

I'll be making some as soon as we get VMware installed and I can start screen capping some more.

Theres normally a forum with tutorials on how to install, or google tutorial and whatever flavour of linux you choose, sabayon has a few on their site.
