....and your product would cost me money, as I've had to service the software of more than 5 computers.....and it cost me nothing to source free software to help diagnose and correct the problems - so what incentive would I have to use your product?

What I find offensive with the product is that costs are not made apparent upfront. You really have to dig for the information.

Admirable though it is to jump in and defend your bosses/product, your rapid response in an attempt to deflect a negative response seems OTT, and elevates my level of suspicion...

I'm sorry you feel that way.

You are obviously welcome to use other tools. The vast majority of people have less than 5 PCs, and if you would have asked us we would have probably given you more PCs to support.

The one last thing I'll add is that once you set-up the service, you can clearly see how many slots you have left are are offered to buy more. For most people that's clear enough and they don't get angry at us. We are in no way hiding that fact.

But I'll make sure the message is conveyed and that we'll emphasize the fact that it's free up to 5 PCs on our homepage.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, even if they are against us

Roee

My post was neither for nor against - just stating my opinion. However, when I did go "digging" for information with regards to "billing", it transpires you have to pay for slots in advance and once they are allocated you then pay for them. Should you not use the slots allocated, you are still charged for them. Hardly fair practice! Yes, I noted also that you can request less slots, but this will not come into effect until the next billing round.

From a business prospective, I cannot justify an expense I do not utilize.

Also, I've checked the background/financing of the company. Whilst I appreciate the "touchy feely we're here to help you folks" approach, there are some heavy financial backers behind this, and they look for a substantial return on their investments...

Again, I'm not impressed with the product as I can find similar for FREE even when it's being used in a business situation.

Weve had people spamming the forum in the past whether it was your company employees or not, spammers dont do it for the good of their health and i avoid any company that uses those tactics and wouldnt recomend them, sorry if it offends you pal but i tend to tell it like i see it

and if you take the trouble to write stuff nothing will be deleted or anyone banned as long as theres nothing too offensive (and we are talking offensive by my standards so its got to be really really bad), but when you ban thousands of spammers certain names stick in your mind and on this occasion your product did, and i still reckon a lot of the comments on cnet were put up jobs.

Fred, I don't think any apologies are necessary. You raised a question, and folks have offered their opinions.

Knowing that your business will undoubtedly generate more than the allotted 5 free computers, it's doubtful if this product will be any use for you, especially when you can access other products free of charge, without incurring any costs.

Thanks guys. One of the reasons I come here is because you all have been where I am now. Like they say why reinvent the wheel? I'd rather ask your opinion before I do anything that will potentially be a bad idea. Who knows the opinions could be that it's great to do it.

I've just been burned so many times in the past it's good to talk to those who have done it.

Fred

my advice would be to not look for programs that will cure all the ills your computer suffers, most of the registry cleaners are at best crap and often make the situation worse not better, ccleaner is pretty safe and shouldnt wreck your computer, hijack this is a lot stronger but read up on it first because you can do a fair bit of damage if you dont know what your doing, rkill and combofix i tend to use a lot, and if that doesnt work i employ the one thing that does cure all, the operating install disc
