Default Soluto

PCWorl magazine has an article about free software for business. Soluto is a software they say will speed up your computers boot time. Has anyone ever used it?

I haven't heard of it, never mind used it. How is it supposed to work?

Well, I googled it, and guess what, although the software is free, using it however, is not...

So, on that note, I'll carry on with my current regime ...

Wow, sounds too good to be true, and theres probably a very good reason for that, i have heard of it, in fact we have had a few people on the forum singing its praises, but dont worry i banned the f**kers

There is no magic software thats going to make your computer run twice as fast as when it was first bought, the best best its ever going to get is when it was a fresh install, even before hp dell etc added all their crap, tune up programs are actually registry repair programs undoing all the changes youve allowed to take place, i would stick to something like ccleaner all these other programs claiming to speed up your computer will just add to your problems not fix them, if your computer is slow its probably start up programs that are causing it, and windows has its own program to deal with them msconfig, and if your computer is still slow after that theres a good chance it was just slow to begin with, computers keep getting faster and if you use a newer computer then return to your own older computer you expect miracles and its not going to happen unless you upgrage the hardware

lmao

I tend not to trust any company who hides their prices. There are costs involved with this product and they are not openly advertised. Totally dislike this method of reeling in the punters by enticing them with a free download, and then hitting them with a bill when they want/need to use it.

Way i look at it is a good company with a good product doesnt need to spam forums like this one, the site seems a little vague about exactly what the software does and how it does it any better than other software (including the software already installed on your computer)

It’s a little like magic.
It sounds a little like hacking to me

been looking at reviews on cnet, call me a cynic but most seem staged apart from this one

Wow thanks guys. I figured reading it in PC World meant they researched it before they wrote the article. I guess now.

Hi, my name is Roee, I'm a software engineer and I work at Soluto.

I understand there are some negative thoughts about Soluto here so I'd like to share some facts:

1. Soluto is and always was free for use. More specifically, it's free for use on up to 5 PCs. If you have more than 5 PCs then there's a cost (it's usually the case if you're a business owner). The way Soluto makes money is by charging businesses using Soluto on many PCs. Not from people using it on their own PC or helping their friends and family with their PCs.
2. Soluto is not a marketing company. Most of the people here are software engineers trying to build software that helps people with their PCs. We are far from perfect, but we try hard. Our boot shortening capability is not in any way magical. It's based on deep analysis of the IO and CPU performed by running processes and services during the boot-up process, and gathering of community statistics to recommend what can be removed and should remain there. In case you haven't given it a try yet - please do. You'll see how technical and deep it is. And it's free
3. There are many people around the world using Soluto (millions). Sure, some people don't like the product, I guess that's the case with every product. We're constantly improving it, hopefully making more people happy with it. But many do like it. In every review site you'll be able to find people with negative opinions, it's their right and it's cool with us. But digging in a pile of many reviews, finding the one that says we're the devil and focusing on that is not representative (no, we didn't write the positive reviews ourselves).

You can choose to try Soluto or not try Soluto, but know it's something built by people who work hard and trying to build something valuable and positive. Maybe you'll like it...

Wow that's a long post I've gotten to here.

But, frankly, I personally know this forum and really like it. And seeing a moderator calling us "f**ckers" is very offending and uncalled for (even worse, this word was used to describe people who recommend our product). Again I feel I must clarify we've never ever ever paid anyone to say something positive here or elsewhere, and no Soluto employee has ever posted on this forum, except for myself, right now.

I hope publish this note and not ban it.

Yours,
Roee
