Default Re:Hey all

Just thought maybe some here would like to see my Computer setup? It's not done, but there's the start of it. The Specs of the Computers on the floor, are:

From right to Left:
Dell XPST500
10Gb hard drive(I plan to upgrade it to a 40Gb)
384Mb Of Ram(Memory)
3DFX Voodoo Banshee Video Card(No longer Made-16Mb or Ram)
This is one rock solid machine. When I got it, it was running Windows 98se, but it had a few viruses on the hard drive, so I just wiped it, and started from scratch. Believe it or not, I have installed Windowsxp on it, and it ran ok. I also ran The game Max Payne on the system, and while it was a bit laggy, I was surprised at the performance. Not bad at all.

Ok, next to the Dell, is a Packard Bell I have had for a while. I do not know the full system specs, however, It does have a fresh install of windows 98se. It also has a 1mb Cirrus Logic Video Card. As said, Don't know much else.

Next to the Packard Bell, is an HP Vectra VL420, that was discontinued in 2001? The Specs are:Windowsxp home edition
40Gb Hard Drive
256Mb Or Ram(Yes, I plan to upgrade).
Nvidia GForce mx4000 Video Card, with 64Mb Of ram(I plan to upgrade that also).
I am also going to try and upgrade the processor, b/c as of right now, It is a 1.60Ghz.

next to that is a Computer running Windows 95(Yes, tghis is the one I was talking about in the fourms, if anyone wanted to buy them(Along with the Hewlett Packard). I do not know anything about this PC, except it has windows 95. It won't go past the boot screen.

The Black Computer you see sitting on the Desk is My Gaming Machine, which is custom built. the Specs of that are:

Windowsxp Professional
500Gb Hard Drive
512Mb GForce 8600 Video Card(Yes, I am going to upgrade, so I can Run Farcry 2 on it(hehe)
RealTeak sound card

And last but not least is my pos Laptop that has been having heating issues. I keep a fan under it all the time, even though the insides have been cleaned out fully. The specs are:

Windows xp Home
40gb Hard Drive
447Mb or Ram
64Mb Intergrated ATI VideoCard.

Anuyways, there's my setup you all. Let me know what you all think.

Nice collection.
Oops...noticed the cigarette pack.
If you're smokin' while you're computin'...you do know where all that smoke and soot is going'...right? It's coating the insides of you're poor ol' computer, and gettin' sucked into the power supply, too.
If you leave a cigarette burning in an ash tray, try not to leave it next to a runnin' computer. I recently replaced a power supply that died from smoke inhalation.
Nice collection and set up, though.
I like the front of the black one...looks cool.

I don't smoke while I'm at the computer. If I did, all that time and money I've spent would be a waste.

Do what i do, cover the cables with other junk and it hides all the messy cables.

Software guy, you left yourself wide open when you said " let me know what you think" Of course if you really want to know what people in the forum think. NP I guarantee you they will tell you (and then some) The truth is always the truth whether you believe it or not

i didn't take any offense to what they said. True, in the pics, There is a cable mess but that happens when you don't have a power surge that has enough plugs in it. Already have that solved though. Thanks.

A man after my own heart! Not quite 40 a day for mine only since I'm not at home most days. Weekends it gets it though. I have enough parts machines if my habit damages the main machine I can always cull some parts from others.
