Default A word of advice

After spending hours dismantling an IBM desktop, labelling and making an inventory of all the components, taking photos, etc., I took a break and went for a coffee.

On my return I found the table bare, and on the floor all the components, labels, screws, etc... and Max, my cat, was looking on, all innocent-like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.

The moral of this story - when disassembling computers - never leave the parts unattended - the moggy will get them!

I have to watch David too, especially with towers if i leave them open he wants to instigate whats on the inside,or my laptop he likes to lay on keyboard if i leave it open and intendant. Now he has never done itto a customers laptop just mine. But when I'm working on a computer he usually sits in his chair right beside me I have told him what a motherboard is and a CPU,he knows all the components in a computer,at least i think he does, since he looks so seriously when i explain these things

Just think what the cats could do if they had opposable thumbs? Max is always curious especially around shiny objects. That, and dangling wires! Any wires, in fact, are a target for him to pounce on. He hasn't gone in any towers, but he did have a cat nap in the IBM desktop case. I could tell because of the hairs he left behind!

Actually, they don't need opposing thumbs. They are quite handy.
My cat watched all the videos and read the manual with me. As you can see, she is very helpful and has increased productivity.

To keep her happy (and to keep her from calling animal rights groups) she works easy hours, and she is provided housing and food.

(Okay, that's not my cat. My cat sleeps all day.)

The name of my company is Husky Computers. Once I get my website up I'm going to try and take a pic of my dog sitting at the computer. He's my customer service department. He may be hard to understand but Huskys sure can heel your computer issues.

Lol. You all have a cat or dog, I used to have two kittens, but the neighbours complained so I had to take em away. :/ I'd like a guinea pig, hamster, gerbil, or small mouse.

Go for guinea pigs, at least they are NOT nocturnal - my daughter had a hamster and it kept the household awake every night with the noise created by the exercise wheel! They are only supposed to have a short lifetime, but Ginger was over 3 when she died. Also, guinea pigs live longer.
