Default Building a Computer

I would like to see a lesson that teaches us how to build a computer from the ground up. I've never tried it before, and I want to give it a shot. I was hoping to save a little money by building my own. Does anyone know of any good websites where i could buy computer parts? (I already use newegg.com but suggestions are always good)

One in the diagnose my computer section, as for buying parts just keep surfing the web for good deals from reputable dealers.

As popeye said, there's already a couple of lessons on here on how to build a computer, browse through the forums and you should find it. As for parts just look up stuff on the internet. Make sure you do a lot of research so you get the best for the lowest price.

Where are you from, know a great place 5 minutes down the road in rochdale but its not much use if you live on the other side of the planet.

I'm in Ohio. I've thought about going to a place like Best Buy, but they seemed really expensive.

You wouldnt like rochdale anyway, have a look on e-bay theyve got plenty of new stuff on there but your best bet it decide exactly what you want then look for prices, did a thread called computers for beginers have a look at that might help choosing what parts to go for.

Default You Can Build Your Own Computer

Heys guys I found something of interest for someone who just needs a different perspective. I came across a website that explains what parts and where to get them to build a decent but powerful computer if you buy it piece by piece. Here is the the link.

Code:
http://www.youcanbuildyourowncomputer.com/
Code:
http://www.youcanbuildyourowncomputer.com/orderparts.html
My apologies if I screwed up the proper procedure as to how to do this stuff like adding links or what have you. I am new at this like everyone else.
One more thing, please add your input after you view the pages and let me know if that is an advantageous choice to make with the parts recommendation and properly putting it together? Because I am considering taking this route if there is no hidden problems that I am aware of. It does seem legit, but I could always use a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th opinion in this matter. Thanks!

Putting a computer together is easy.
picking out parts and seeing which are compatible and which are the best is the hard part.
i want to build a system(wanted to for a while now) but i cant seem to find the parts i need ill explain. i wanted to get a Phenom II x4 965 at 3.4GHz. but i cant find a compatible motherboard. and if i do people's reviews say that the motherboard broke on arrival,Bios didnt work,Motherboard burn out the processor. so anyone know of a good brand of motherboards that supports a 140watt processor?also is 4gigs of ram good do i need more? less? budget is around 800-900$. also i was looking at harddrives is a Hitachi 1TB harddrive good? Seagate?western digital.?
