Default Dual-Core Athlon X2

Is the Dual Core Athlon X2 processor any good? It's speed is 2GHz. The laptop I want to buy has this processor but I don't think its that great.
I could always upgrade it, would that be an easy task for someone who has really never did anything like it?

useing a 2.4gig 5200 would swap for an i7 but it does the job, always going to be little slower with a laptop because their in such an enclosed space, price you pay for not being tied to a desktop, wouldnt think changing processor would be too dificult as long as it uses a socket and isnt soldered in.

Well yesterday I took my laptop apart and I was amazed, first because it was so hard to actually open and second because there were so many cords and wires all over.

I have a Dual Core Athlon X2 processor in my Acer desktop. Not the best, but gets the job done. Lousy for gaming, but multimedia, and most basic stuff it'll hold it's own weight.

When I took apart the old desktop we had it was a lot more easier to locate things, in the laptop it was a lot of work to get it open lol.
I really don't do any gaming, just video rendering and dreamweaver which I noticed speeds up the fans a little bit.
