you might want to look at Newegg.com

you dont have to get the barebone kit.
you can buy your laptop hardware and put it together yourself.

Fixing them is easy, getting them back in one piece is the hard part, will let you know if i ever manage the second part.

Could always take a look at the Asus g73 is you are looking for a gaming machine.

Running an N71 myself, 2nd Asus laptop for me and still going strong, good warranty on the non Best Buy models too.

Also, FYI, Best buy has their own laptops made for them to their specs same as walmart does for tv's.

You should check the reports on the Asus n80vt and the n80vt-bbk that is for bestbuy, its like they are 2 different machines, the BB one is cheaper but it averages a 1.5 review vs a 4.0 for the standard laptop.

You get what you pay for.

*The N71 is an older model, core 2 quad q9000 and a geforce gt240m, newegg was clearing em out for 850 and with it being an older tech I had a lot of reviews on the hardware, so I knew it was going to be stable.

The one that replaced it was the JQ model,

Newegg.com - ASUS N71JQ-X1 NoteBook Intel Core i7 720QM(1.60GHz) 17.3" 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 500GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730
