Default Power supply backup

I bought an APC battery back up. About a month ago on ebay. I was really glad that I had, because the junk man next door ran his dump truck into our utility pole . The power went out but the back up worked perfectly. Can't advise you enough to get your own backup, be cause i've had to repair two computer previously because I didn't have one.

Yes!! battery backups are amazing. Not only for power surges and outages, but the main reason i got it is for clean non fluctuating power to my computer. "Clean Power" does wonders! ahaha

Default Don't cheap out

I remember when I bought my first back battery backup. It was so painful to spend the money for something with so little "geek factor" but after experiencing several power outages in my town a good UPS is worth it.

I would stick with well known brands like APC and I personally don't by "refurbs", I've had bad luck with them. Also, remember to test them every now and then, the batteries tend to start losing life after a year or so. Sometimes a false sense of security is worse than fear of an outage.

Yes backup power is AWESOME

Popeye, the dangers of unplugging, loss of power while computer in use(gaming, internet browsing, video), flipping the switch, can cause an electrical serge to run through your motherboard, which will fry your motherboard circuits. or cause the power supply to surge and burst into flames(had it happen to me).
