Hello, good people. I have a question. Is a source code a program in a code form? How can you access it. Also, is open source software software that can be distrubuted legally? And also, does paid and free software have a source code or just free software?

Hi Steve The definitive place for finding, creating and publishing open sourced software is Sourceforge. SourceForge.net: Find, Create, and Publish Open Source software for free |

Hey Steve, Open source has more to do with the licensing. Some open source software can be distributed freely, but some is paid software or implementations. Most open source licenses are what is referred to as "copyleft" instead of copyright. Some good reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_source\ Also, all programs have source code, but it is usually not distributed except in the case of open source, where it is usually required by the license. It is indeed the uncompiled code that makes up a program.
