Default unresponsive plug-in

Every once in awhile I get this message, "The following plug in is unresponsive: unknown. Would you like to stop it?". It started after I went from explorer browser to firefox and google chrome. What does this mean and what can I do to fix it?

Hi Digital Dawg,

Did you try running a regeristry check to see if there is a problem there.

Possible some files got knocked out of whack and need removed or repaired.

Try running: Eusing Free Registry Cleaner or RKill and then if you haven't done a virus scan for awhile do one with Super AntiSpyware.

There are some good links listed on the BYOIT web site under tools.

Hope that helps, Good Luck.

Hey Hammer, Well I did run the Regcure suggested by this site for the registry cleaning and still was getting the message. But the other day I ran a free cleaner called CCcleaner and included the registry for cleaning this time and so far it's been okay. Hopefully that did it. Thanks for the help Hammer, very much appreciated!

"That plugin" is usually flash or java spontaneously exploding because someone who doesn't know how to code their way out of a cardboard box decided to design interactive banner ads.

CCleaner, IMO, is the best cleaner out there.

William, I did see a message saying "SHOCKWAVE FLASH CRASHED"...then everything would freeze on me after that. Had to close and reopen browser each time. Got to be VERY annoying, lol. But so far so good after the cleaning. Thanks for the feedback guys.
