His questions, from what I can tell, have nothing to do with repairing a computer. He's just trying to get answers from us for a test.

if he thinks there should be a forum expert on cpmputer languages hes more than welcpme to the job, im interested in it myself to a certain degree but more to spot problems that actually write programs, but the questions are probably best aimed at a forum specialising in computer language than a computer repair forum

I think he was inventive, trying to get someone else to do his homework... Had computers and the internet been around when I was young, I think I'd have tried this myself....

there are many different computer languages for different purposes, its a bit more specialised than computer repair but we still get the odd question on it, so keep studying and answer questions when you can, if people get the right answers they will come back and ask more

What?? More homework ?? I'm swamped, totally swamped...computer repair course, laptop repair course, ubuntu ... and to top it off starting up a new business ... I'm gonna get a "please excuse" note from my mum....

On saying that, you have a fair point, Popeye. Can anyone recommend a good beginners book on computer languages - hey, if we divvy up the workload we could have a basic working knowledge of the differing computer languages. I'm game. Count me in.

Just googled computer languages and went on Wikipedia - there are thousands of them! What are the ones most used? Why do they need so many? I can see now why its so specialized...

I don't remember crap about function prototyping.

That being said, sql is not technically a programming language out of those 3.
