Have you checked the usual suspects?

1.virus
2.spyware
3.heat issues
4.OS issues
5.Remove all from Msconfig

Is this computer on 24/7? Or most of the time? If it is you, will have to clean the cpu fan + heat sink(dont clean with any liquid). Remember dust is every ware and if dust gets stuck on the cpu heat sink, this will cause the CPU to overheat and freeze your pc (decreasing system performance). Also do what Admin said, check your windows for viruses and spyware, there are the #1 cause of system crashes. Do a disk cleanup by going to start, accessories, system tools and disk cleanup. Also in the same folder do a disk defragmenter. This will help you to put your folder in order in your hard disk increasing system performance.

Yeah, I suggest you try a virus scan using whatever program you feel comfortable with.
Maybe also try deleting some old files you don't use?

Squid, edit your threads please.
And for your problem, try to remove some things from your startup, Start>Search MSCONFIG>Startup>Uncheck things that don't need to startup.
Also "os issues" meaning you may need to reinstall windows.

Yes, I understand you are still having problems.
Try to post more information about what is happening, maybe some more recent things?
Users have tried to help you, but you have replied with disrespectful comments.

Also you said you don't know how to reinstall Windows. All you really need to do is put your important files onto a flash drive, etc, and then use the system recovery cd's. If you dont have those CD's then call whoever made your laptop. I know HP sends them for free.

Nate is right, try to give us more information about your problem. There are a billion of possibilities on why a computer starts to freeze. Computer hardware, software, not going in details!!!..

I see you got 3 hardrive in your computer. Did you install all 3 or it came with it?

Also 4 GB of Ram. Did it came with it or did you install it?

Try checking the Ram timing "speed" on the bios, bad ram setting could lead to system to be unstable to freeze. Make sure all RAM has the same bus speed (800 MHz and so on)

Hard disk

Double check jumpers on hard disk.
Windows hardisk most be set to master, all other most be set to cable select since you have more than 2.
Go to my computer
Right click C: properties, tools, error checking, check now, check the first box, start and restart the pc.

Check your Ram:

Check motherboard aspect for memory capability.
Type and max speed
Try 2 GB of ram (take one chip off)

Software:
Do a disk cleanup, start, accessories, system tools, disk cleanup, check all boxes, ok.
In the same folder do a disk defragmenter "is going to take a long time"

Change your theme don

Since you make a living with the PC then you know how important it is - so what you need to list and it's is critically important.

1. List the exact components you have in the PC, from the motherboard make and model, to the memory, to the video card (or integrated video), to the power supply. When you list the brand/model of the power supply give the specifications on brand, watts, and the AMP (amperage) ratings of the +12V rail. Exact CPU, and does it have the stock OEM heat sink fan or an aftermarket CPU fan?

2. Did you build this system or buy it, and if you did but it what is the make and model number of the PC?

3. If you did build it did you properly ground yourself and are you sure there aren't any errant (or missing) motherboard standoff screws under the backside of the motherboard that might be shorting the motherboard out against the case?

4. Does the I/O backplate on the back of your PC seem to fit "flush (IE perfectly) or do you see that it's skewed or tilted? Or it doesn't seem to fit right? That can cause a short.

5. Could be a memory issue to and the only way to know that is to runmemtest86. You also need to make sure the FSB and voltage corresponds to what it needs by default ratings (specifications). EG DDR 1333 ram at 2.1v 15-5-5-5 timings.

*in short you need to list full specs for the PC, and if you built how did you built it (steps) - if you bought it what model? Finally, do you have the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard?
