Default Having issues I can't solve.

Hello everyone, just wanted to ask for some advice on a problem I'm having that's driving me up the wall. Brand new computer, just bought November has been having the same issue since day 1. Freezing. It will freeze randomly, no keyboard, no mouse input, no response. The system will only restart the hard way by killing power to it. First thing I thought was harddrive was bad, so I replace it. Second hard drive works for a week and starts the same problem, so I replace it again. This harddrive works for less than a week and same problem occurs. I replaced the cable going to the harddrive to the mainboard as well.

So I return the PC to Cyberpower for repairs, they tell me it's a software issue and they can't fix it. I get the PC back, reinstall windows, same issue happens. Replace the harddrive again, same thing happens. Freezing. Safe to say it isn't the harddrive at this point. I talk to a tech guy I know and he says it sounds like a bad motherboard to him because sometimes after these freezes the system will sit on detecting IDE drives a loooong time before loading windows. I could really use whatever help you all can offer. Thank you. Oh yes, my system-

I think that's all. Oh yes and Speeedfan shows that the PC runs very cool, I've also tested the RAM using the ultimate boot cd.

I would check ram timeings first, if they are right would assume its a problem with drivers or bios, you said you reinstalled the operating system if youve got disc and its retail version reinstall the 32bit os see if that does the same thing (wont need a key to test it) or see if you can borrow another disc doesnt matter what the os is its just to test it, if it turns out it is the 64bit thats the problem check things like sound card and other cards have the proper 64bit drivers, if its not that look on evga website see if theres a known problem with your bios version.

try looking at event logs see if they provide any clues.

If push comes to shove make sure you give bad reviews everywhere you go. The manufactures sites and or the place you bought it. Explain the problem and let others know . However I'd exhaust all remedies first and foremost. Make sure you pinpoint the problem this way the reviews are legit.

Did it occur to you it might be the OS? I got a PC from Walmart a few years ago and had a similar problem. It had a CORRUPT Operating System After pulling all my hair out I finally installed a different OS and "Wahh-Laah!!!"
I made sure to spread the word far & wide about walmart selling refurbished computer systems and selling them as retail. Worst part about it is they wouldn't take the computer back because it was after the 30 day refund or whatever it was. I called corporate headquarters and had it out with them for a head clashing. They send me a gift card around christmas a few months later for $100. I ended up selling it cold to someone nearby for cash. I'll never shop there again after that fiasco.

Good luck on that issue. Keep us updated on the status and if you get it fixed.

I'll do it. I finally got in touch with a Cyberpower rep since I filed a BBB report and he assured me that the motherboard and psu will be replaced regardless. The motherboard was the main suspect that a friend recommended and I figured, "Hey, if they are offering to replace it all for me, why not let them?" So we'll see, I'll let you all know what comes of it and what the repair guy says. Already tried them once but they didn't change any part out, this time though with the BBB's help I got it in writing that they'll switch out the two parts. Should have the system back in about 2 weeks.

Easy to swap out parts but cant help thinking its more likely to be software related.

I wouldn't put the same software or OS on your PC just in case the sailor is right. Different antivirus, antispyware, etc.

make sure also that your cpu is functioning properly, and that the fan is working. But yeah it sounds like may be the mother board. If all else fail's send the computer back. Some issues with motherboards don't happen until days later on, could be a bad circuit, or static damage to the motherboard.
