well to what ive experienced with windows 7 it has a really nice UI.. its better than vista's.. and the way the other program gets transparent when you are navigating through other programs.. also found out that some of vista's softwares also works with windows 7.. like hardware drivers.. but not my MoBo drivers.. that i dont know why.. and some softwares from the internet like realtek audio driver.. chat programs works without any problems.. this is a good OS cause first it is free (for the mean time yes) and its better than vista.. pretty much like vista but its better.. thats all for now.. gotta sleep coz i have to go to work tommorrow.. more power guys

Email from microsoft Special Beta Edition -- Correction Because you signed up to test the Windows 7 Beta, we recently sent you mail about the expiration dates for the Beta and Release Candidate. Unfortunately, we made a mistake. We said the Beta would start shutting down every two hours on June 1, 2009. The correct date is July 1, 2009. The rest of the dates in the mail were correct. Here

Just a short and easy tutorial on how to make your incompatible software/driver work with windows 7. all you need to do is locate the exe file of the program you want to install or run.. right click on it and then choose troubleshoot compatibility.. a window will pop up with two options.. if you are unsure of what other OS it is compatible with.. just run the 1st option.. something like test recommended settings.. and then click Start the program button and wait if it works... if it works click Next and then you can save that compatibility setting for that software.. hope this helps *This is not 100% to work to all of other softwares that works with earlier versions of windows..* Last edited by drich06; 05-29-2009 at 08:35 AM. |

If I upgrade to Windows 7 RC, do I have to partition my hard drive? Will I be able to go back to XP without reinstalling it, and will I still be able to use all the files I have in XP now?

Easiest way would be to create a new partition and use it as a dual boot, doesnt need fast cpus or lots of ram but the graphics card has got to be pretty good check yours meets the min std. you will need a disc to go back to xp, you wont want to after 7 if your computers good enough to rub it. if you put it on a partition you can drag them off the other see if they work, its free and you will learn, win win situation.
