Default Question on Upgrading

I (finally) am thinking about upgrading to Vista (with the free "upgrade to windows 7" later thing). If I upgrade now, will I still be able to keep all of the files in My Documents and program files? Will the registry still be there? Will i keep my save points in games and everything?

Yes, you will be able to keep your documents and some settings, i can't promise you all your settings from the registry will be there. You should think about program and hardware capability, and most important thing is BACKUP all your files, pics, music, etc. Here is something to get you started:

download Windows Vista Upgrade advisor
Get Windows Vista: Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor

TIPS of what exacly you should do before upgrade.
Windows Vista Migration Step-by-Step Guide

PS Get at least 2 to 4 GB of RAM. Vista will run like crap is you have less than that.

hope this helps. Good luck.

Should load basic drivers to get up and running itself, just let it run, if it wont load you probably need to check bios version supports vista on motherboard makers website.
