Default File transfer problem

Pentium 3 - 800
windows xp sp2

Just got a new computer and I'm trying to transfer files from the system listed above (pictures, files, etc..) the problem is that nothing will copy onto usb or disc. I should mention that the xp I have on that computer was not genuine and ever since I accidently allowed wga to check my version, I lost my browser, windows media player won't play my stored music (it says " not enough memory") and I see that the system doesn't recognize the soundcard or other things like the printer either. What if anything can I do? I just wanted to retrieve my personal files and put them on my new computer.

Thanks for your help,
vlady

Go to activate windows and it will give you an option to change key, use another key to activate the os long enough to get the files you want off the computer, pm me if you cant get hold of a key, if its a desktop connect the old drive should be able to get at files that way too.

That's probably the best bet. Get a USB to SATA/IDE convertor or borrow someones and get your old files like that.

Much easier than trying to repair Windows and getting your files off that way.
