Changing your Windows user password is a simple way to help protect your privacy. To do this, open the “Start” menu and click “Control Panel.” Double click on “User Accounts” and select your profile from the list.
Click “Change the Password” in this window. On the next screen, enter your desired, new password in the two boxes that prompt you to do so. In the last textbox, type a hint that will help you remember this information in case you forget it. It is advisable that your make your hint obvious only to you in case someone tries to login under your name. Once you hit “Change Password,” your changes will be saved.
You can also “Remove the Password” altogether from your user account option screen. Simply select the corresponding prompt, followed by the “Remove Password” button.
