Every time you visit a website, some information from that website is stored on your hard drive for later use. It does not matter what type of site it is that you are visiting – whether you are shopping online, reading the news, posting on your favorite forum, or just randomly surfing around. Every site you visit is going to store some stuff on your hard drive for later. Why? Well, these little files that get stored on your hard drive do make bro

wsing quicker and easier for you if you go back to that site later. It will load faster. Many websites also drop cookies onto your computer, which are files that store information about you that the website can see later when you come back – passwords, for example, or location information.

You may not realize how much space all this information takes up on your hard drive. If you surf the web a lot – or even just a moderate amount – these files can really add up. And if a lot of drive space is being eaten up, then you will find that your computer slows way down. You don't actually need these files hanging around all the time, and deleting them will go a long way towards helping to improve your computer's performance. There's also one other really good reason to delete Temporary Internet Files on a regular basis, and that's privacy. If you have other people using your computer from time to time and don't want them knowing your browsing history and seeing which websites, files and other things you like to visit and use, then keeping this cleared out will prevent that.

Deleting your Temporary Internet Files is easy. If you are using Internet Explorer, simply open up the browser and locate the Tools menu at the top. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options. There, under the General tab, you will find a button for deleting these files. Depending on your browser version, you may need to click on several buttons to get rid of all of the temp files mentioned here - “delete cookies” and “delete files,” for example. There may also be a “Settings” button that you can click on to adjust how your computer handles these files. Under that section, you can set a specific amount of time to have your browsing history saved, for example.

Do this on a regular basis to keep unnecessary junk from cluttering up your hard drive. Your computer will run a lot more smoothly and quickly, and you will be thankful for that. It also helps retain your privacy, should other people be using your computer from time to time. All in all, it's a worthy investment of a few moments of your time every now and again!
