ICQ is a well-established, free chat program. It is easy to install and use, but if you need help you can follow this guide. Make sure you have the latest version of ICQ installed on your computer before proceeding.
When the installation program has been downloaded to your desktop, double click on its icon. This will launch ICQ’s install process. Click to agree with the developer’s terms of service and the hit “Next.” Be Your Own IT recommends doing a custom installation of ICQ and deselecting all of the chat client’s added features (which can cause your Internet browsing to slow down).
Click “Next,” and the program will automatically install itself. After this is done, you can progress through the remainder of the screens by clicking “Next.” Simply select “Finish” on the final screen to launch ICQ.
Select “Get a new account” on the program’s login screen and enter the required information. Click “Next” and progress through the remainder of the signup process. After you click “Finish” on the final screen, you will automatically be logged into ICQ. From the main screen, you can add contacts, chat, play games and more. You can even make telephone calls from ICQ.
