Change your user name in Windows
Are you sick of that Owner or Customer name that came with your computer by default? BeYourOwnIT walks you through changing it to something more personal.
Changing your username in Windows XP and Vista is a very quick and easy process. Go to the “Start” Menu and select “Control Panel.” Double click on “User Accounts” in the window that opens.
Find the user account you wish to change the name of and click on it. You will be brought to a screen with a number of new options. Select “Change Your Name” and enter the new information in the text box that displays your old user account name. Click “Change Name,” to finish the process.
