Internet Bandwidth when you Own Multiple Computers
Internet Bandwidth is distributed differently when we talk about hubs and switches. If I have three computers on my house network and I have a hub, the modem will send my complete 1 MB connection to the hub. Now if my main computer asks for the whole connection, it will eat up just about the complete 1 MB of connection. The other computers may get a very weak signal, because of the varying connection.
The more common distribution is a switch. If your house has a router, you probably are running on a switch, which uses load balancing. Load balancing essentially means every time a computer wishes to join the network, the switch will evenly disperse the 1 MB connection to all computers.
