Hello and welcome to Be Your Own IT Software Review Series. Today we’re going to take a look at a couple different spyware removal softwares that made the cut and are effective and we recommend to a lot of our visitors. The top three that we came down with basically: AntiSpyware, Spyware Doctor six and Xoft SE Antispyware. There are a lot of spyware removal programs out there that are free, things like Adware, Malwarebytes, AVG, but in the end, most of them, in order to get full functionality, cost money. I want to put them against each other, all costing their full amount to get full functionality. These are in fact our top three.

AntiSpyware received four and a half stars. Spyware Doctor six received five. XoftSpy SE received three although it was an honorable mention. Again these are our top three from a longer list. We didn’t take our time to make pages on our website for software that we wouldn’t recommend.

Starting with the Xoft, it detects or removes spyware or adware running in your PC, scans running processes and registry items, regular files, finds things like key loggers, pop up generators, trojans, and much more. It also prevents identity theft, credit card fraud and more.

So Xoft should have gotten more like a four or four and a half but it’s only real drawback is it’s been known to get false positives and labeled relatively harmless cookies as malicious “data miners”. Also it seemed to miss files that were later detected by more established programs like the Spyware Doctor. While the number of files that it missed was not astronomical, it was enough for us to bring down the rating a little bit.

If you go back and look at our report on Spyware Doctor six receiving five stars, it is brought to you by world famous PC Tools, over a hundred million downloads, very advanced antispyware or adware detector/removal, really easy user interface free customer support which is huge, frequent automatic updates which increase accuracy in malware detection.

It actually received an Editor’s Choice Award from PC Magazine and a 95% score from PC World. So this is definitely one that we rank extremely high, that we have the download right at our website.

And with so many antispyware, antivirus programs out there, things like that, it’s important to know which one to get if you’re having a spyware issue, either A: Have an infection or B: Want to prevent one, if you have one you need to remove it and of course prevent a further infection.

If you don’t have one currently and you want to stay safe, it’s important you get the right program, especially if you’re spending 30 or 40 dollars on something. So Spyware Doctor six received four stars.

The other one we took a look at was AntiSpyware. Again, this was a little bit higher rated. Helps fix unexpected slow downs, crashes, particularly when searching the web or operating a security or antivirus program, if your web browser opens up strange pages, you got pop ups. This software is also extremely, extremely, good and we both have a link to their website here and a link to download it.

They want to know which programs work and these are the three that made the cut and our take on all three. I highly recommend getting at least one of these three. Load it up on your computer.

In the computer repair shop, it typically costs about $150 bucks to remove spyware. Some places will do a little bit less or some places will be a little bit more. But it’s also important to also remember some of the secondary things that can come up. You lose your files. You lose precious photographs, family pictures, things like identity theft‑‑somebody steals your credit card.
