Windows 7 provides you with a great feature called Sticky Notes which allows you to quickly record your thoughts until you are able to take care of it. It serves the exact same purpose as regular sticky notes.

All you need to do is click on the start menu tab and select the Sticky Notes program. From there you are able to add more sticky notes onto your desktop as well as change the color by right clicking on the sticky note and choosing your desired color.
